AJ's parents first left India as a young and ambitious family with nothing but hopes and dreams, and a few dollars in their pockets. Even though his family has had the pleasure of living overseas in numerous countries, AJ has close ties with the motherland. He has memories, both fond and otherwise, associated with India; and has always felt enchanted by the beauty that the country has to offer, and finds himself travelling back there once every few years.

"Some of the best pictures I have shot, have been here.. the camera just seems to love all the colors.", AJ says.

His favorite place in India has been Rajasthan, in western India. The princely state is renowned for its palaces and grand structures, greatly preserved. "The people I met here were down to earth, and genuine. Everyone was proud of their culture and heritage and it showed", AJ noted, "This is one place that has held on to its traditional roots, the experience truly is timeless...". He one day hopes to experience the Palace on Wheels luxury train for his transformation into a Maharajah.

AJ has spent numerous months ​wandering through India on his Tours, but has yet to cover significant ground there, something he always regrets. He says that he has never seen such diversity, color and variety of food anywhere else in his extensive travels! AJ aims to make his next visit to India, a much longer one; and wishes to travel and learn from the numerous cultures the place has to offer.

Monica will be joining AJ to officially bring the #TourDeCarter to India, on their next trip; at a point in the near future.
